Terms of use
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses DoseStep (“the site”). By using the site you accept these terms and the medical disclaimer, which forms part of them. If you do not accept them, we ask you not to use the site.
1. What the site is
DoseStep is a free, independent educational resource that offers calculators, guides and explanations about medication and clinical maths. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The full limits are set out in the medical disclaimer.
2. Permitted use
You may use the site for personal study, teaching and professional education. You agree not to:
- present results from the site as a validated clinical tool, or embed the calculators in clinical systems;
- copy, republish or sell substantial parts of the site’s content, design or code without written permission;
- scrape the site in bulk, interfere with its operation or attempt to access it in unauthorised ways;
- use the site for any unlawful purpose.
Short quotations with a link back to the source page are welcome.
3. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice, and we do not guarantee that it will be error-free, secure or always available.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DoseStep, its authors, contributors and reviewers are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site, including any loss resulting from errors, omissions or inaccuracies in calculators or content. You use the site entirely at your own risk and remain solely responsible for any clinical or other decision you make.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, nor affects the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
5. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to hold DoseStep and its authors harmless from claims by third parties arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.
6. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the texts, design, graphics and code of the site are protected by copyright and belong to DoseStep. Formulas from published scientific literature belong to their authors and are cited on each page.
7. Privacy
How we handle data is explained in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts provided for by those rules.
